    abstract = { The COMET experiment at J-PARC aims to observe the neutrino-less conversion of a muon to an electron with a single event sensitivity of an order of 10−17. As the first step of the experiment, we will deploy the simplified configuration, “Phase-I,” to achieve a single event sensitivity 100 times better than the current upper limit, and to investigate the beam and backgrounds. The Cylindrical Detector system is the primary physics detector for the COMET Phase-I. It consists of the Cylindrical Drift Chamber and the Cylindrical Trigger Hodoscope. The practical system of the Cylindrical Drift Chamber was constructed at the J-PARC Hadron Assembly Building for detector verification. This paper provides an outline of the design, testing, and ongoing preparations for the detector, including the status and plans for its installation at the experimental site. }
