    abstract = { The COMET experiment searches for muon-to-electron conversion at J-PARC. In its Phase-I stage, a trigger signal will be provided by a Cylindrical Trigger Hodoscope (CTH) by taking four-fold coincidence of scintillation photons. A full scale CTH prototype was constructed to study its performance for the first time. We performed a beam test with the prototype at the Paul Scherrer Institut. We took data with various conditions of momentum and CTH position. Time resolution, light yield, detection efficiency, and particle identification power to suppress cosmic ray were evaluated. }
