    abstract = { The COMET experiment, which searches for the μ–e conversion process, uses MPPCs in the trigger counter. The MPPCs receive a radiation dose equivalent to 1010 neutrons/cm2 during the experiment, which increases dark noise. This noise can cause fake triggers and degrade timing resolution. In order to suppress the dark noise, the MPPCs need to be cooled. The MPPC cooling system is designed to cool the MPPCs down to approximately −36°C. Several cooling system prototypes were tested to determine the final design for COMET Phase-I. }
